I call shenanigans AND Bravo Sierra
on Mythbusters

So the Greatest, Most Vitriolic debate online has been solved on MYTHBUSTERS.

Will an aeroplane placed upon a conveyor belt going the opposite direction and matched in speed to the belt be able to take off?

This is such a stupidly flawed attempt. The key is the plane remaining stationary. In NEITHER test, micro with an RC plane on a treadmill, or macro with an ultralight on a tarpaulin strip towed by Jamie's truck, was the plane's speed synced to the opposing speed of the belt. There was ALWAYS forward motion relative to the conveyor belt.

The Mythbusters test is busted.

The Aardvark is saddened. As such, he needed a picture of the Fireflash to cheer him up.

What an amazingly esoteric thing to post upon.

I blame the fever.
Esoteric. I like that. Verging on the gnostic, it is.

Join me on the dark side of the force.

Admit that Mythbusters is mock-umentary at best and very well staged pseudo-science. They are playin' you man!

Cunningdove, the thump you just heard is my falling off the turnip truck last night. (broad wink)

It's two special effects guys, for cri-yi.
I just hoped they would, you know, stick to the original parameters, rather than abandoning them without consideration or excuse.

(I had expectations...)

(straightens up, points a finger))

"I'll NEVER join you..."

unless there's pizza.

I'll have to think about the pizza. New budget constraints this year... I lost the 10 hrs OT I was getting each week this year. Ouch.

But I did help a fellow college student drop his C++ class by joining the dark side. I don't know how he did in the class the following semester, but I aced the easy intro level class. :o)
