Star Trekkin'....

Ran across this leetle gem over at The Booksteve Channel blog. He celebrates pop-culture of the '60s and '70s, through the eyes of his own youth. He has several blogs, including 1966 My Favorite Year.

The Hirschfeld art alone is worth the price of admission. I had forgotten how much I enjoyed Cleveland Amory's TV Guide reviews, even as a yout'.

Now if I can find Isaac Asimov's reaming article on "Land of the Giants".

That Asimov piece on "Land of the Giants" was in February 22, 1969 issue of TV GUIDE. According to my source it hasn't appeared anywhere else.

And yes, I'm happy now.

Good for you. I have contacted Steven to see if he has that TV Guide. We may find this yet. Thanks for the lead!

Interesting how Amory referred to "Star Trek" as a "shoot-'em-up", especially when one took into account how much the firing of a phaser ate into the budget.
