Assuredly an improvement over that revolting tree ornament that delivers "news updates" from the North Pole. Parents throughout the land are probably wanting to take a speargun to whoever came up with that.

Never heard of such a beast. Link?

HAH-you said "speargun! We were talking about "Voyage"!

Well, was also thinking about the scene from "Thunderball", when Connery nails Philip Locke to a tree. But yes, definitely getting back into a "Voyage" frame of mind here.

Oh, and here's the link to the talking ornament:

Oh, good. Another reason not to buy ANYTHING Hallmark.

HALLMARK DESTROYED THE MASTERS TO FILMATION MUSIC????

Please pardon my French here, Weathely, but FUCK!

So much for the soundtrack to the "Fantastic Voyage" cartoon series (one of my favorites), as well as the shmoozy music to all those Filmation adaptations of DC characters.

I'm aware that Hallmark is supposed to "give the very best", but I didn't think we had to bend over for it. Shit!

As ever, you speak succinctly!

Yeah, pretty much my reaction. I have outgrown the whole boycott "X" approach, but come ON! You don't buy Bibles from Satan. That was just a dreadful bit of news I ran across ages back. The Wiki article on Filmation may offer some hope as to future releases, as Hallmark has sold the (remainder of) the Filmation library.

I'll buy my cards from American Greetings, or make my own.

The video transfers that Hallmark did were made to the PAL standard, because inexplicably, they were only releasing them outside the US.

Sheer flippin' GENIUS.

Oh God, I so want a decent copy of that series. I used to have a VHS cassette of (badly transferred) episodes a friend of mine gave me (he got it from a . . . ahem! cough! . . . source he couldn't quite remember). Unfortunately that tape long gave up the ghost.

These days the closest you can get to watching the series is the "Black Widow" episode (with Agnes Moorhead as the voice of the titular character) on YouTube.

What's really odd is that, a few days ago, I was reminiscing about the Batchelor/Halas "Lone Ranger" series with some fellow fans of classic 60s animation (the subject came up because some nice people have been uploading entire episodes of "Cool McCool" on YouTube.

Here is a possibility for you.

I emailed Batchelor and Halas several years ago, and a very nice lady responded, saying that no, they were not releasing TLR, because the series was animated there FOR CBS.

Joe DeRouen of Megostore.com ripped me off several years back when I paid for his DVDs. Never received them, and he has NEVER responded to an email.

If I was going to consciously rip off people, then SF fans would be the last group I'd do it to. Too much of a combination of organization and long memory.
