Blivets by the bloviating....

The question is, do all of the oil arm-flailers want to keep their transportation, or keep mass transit, or any industrial production, or agricultural production?
It ALL requires petroleum products. You don't stop the basis of your industrial economy without having replacements in place.

Allow me to posit that Social Justice Warriors (SJWs) are in fact NOT the classic "bleeding heart liberals". The major difference is "heart". The "bleeding heart", whether you agree with them or not, operated from real concern for the objects of their exsanguination. They wanted to improve the lot of whatever group merited their concern.
The SJW, by my observation, exists to maintain a Narrative, and to make miserable the lives of those who disagree with that Narrative.

Here endeth the lesson.

SO angry.
Clearly I cannot vote for ANYONE this Presidential election, for NONE of them line up precisely with all of my beliefs, opinions, doctrines, or policies, eye color nor blood type.

The Noeru and we were talking last night. He is wistful for the days of the tinkers, the repair-men. The people who repair small appliances and tools to keep them usable, and not become landfill-fodder.
When I was a kid, we had a house-call TV repairman from Clio, SC hight "Rembert Pate". He was a stoop-shouldered, big guy with bad dentition, who would come late in the evening to fix the vertical flutter or whatever besieged your viewing pleasure. 8PM, and he was there with his enormous doctor's bag of tubes and frammistats, and likely as not, when he left, the old Admiral B&W set was right as rain again.
Now, sets are unfixable in such a way. A tragic end to a faithful fraternity of fix-it people.

I knew it was all over when Zenith brought out the solid-state "Works-in-a-Drawer".

Weren't these in (old) Doctor Who?
Sure LOOK like it....

"The Doomsday Machine" is hands-down my favorite TOS episode, and I've seen "Let That Be Your Last Battlefield"!

Please read precisely.
Vote for whom you wish, but if you decide to vote for Hillary Clinton as some sort of "message" or protest, then you are not a "conservative", and likely never were.
"Not voting" for that office would be the more effective protest.

OK. This is getting a bit much.
Today in our house we have talked (spoken) about various things. "The Martian" book. A specific electrician. A Kitchenaid mixer, and one other thing which I cannot recall.
Ads for each of these have since popped up on Facebook today.
These were not FB messages, or searches we have done.

Maybe it will give me an ad for the brand of foil I need for my new headgear.

Don't think for a moment that you're the only one feeling left in the cold concerning the upcoming elections.

Agree with you about "The Doomsday Weapon". So much good direction in that episode. The scene where William Windom assumes control, then sits in the Captain's chair and slowly turns about . . . giving everyone on the Bridge "The Look" . . . clearly rates as one of the best scenes in the entire series.

And I'm going to pretend as hard as possible I never saw that meat-filled Twinkies ad.

"The Doomsday Machine" has the most egregious racist bit ever.

Matt Decker: You're bluffing.

Mr. Spock: Vulcans never bluff.

Matt Decker: No. No, I don't suppose that they do.

Lordy, you belt them out. I didn't even have to think I was needing to duck any of them this time. Probably. Or... where you being sneaky? :p

Oil? I'm simple with things. I would give the people who want, or don't want, what they want, or don't want. Democrats would lose their right to own guns, use oil products, shower more than the French (the washed rind ones), and so on. Simple, see?

I think the Dread Dormomoo is wise. But don't stop there. Anything you consider buying... does it pay for itself, or otherwise earn? Seriously. Now, if you are living to live? But shouldn't there be more? Oh, I'm not preaching, I'm seeing wisdom and adding it to a lesson I am trying to learn. I'm a fool, too often, and... wait... where is my money? Though a lamb, hog, and beef in the freezer shows I don't waste it all, and that does save, a lot. So... Still, where did that money go.

This time I would vote, if I could stay on top of things. Or... not. I am not sure I fully approve of voting, even if there is a candidate I have some hope regarding. The hope of politics is gone (imho). Trump will not be... half so good as many believe, simply better, maybe, mostly, partially, than the opponent? I'm just not sure, at this point, giving them your vote is wise. If voting was down to a few millions, the government would essentially be given a vote of no confidence. Ruling would become quite difficult. They really do, "both" parties, need/want your vote (even if they stand with their opposition well before they would stand with you, peasants!). Oh, no gruff. Though we aren't peasants, if the choice is between being one of them and being called a peasant... I'll take the name. If I think tar and feather time is here again.

Seriously, on the potted meat twinkies? I think I chunked a little. Nasty. I love one, used to love the other. Like sardine and cherry pie? That was cruel. Good, but cruel. I'm not going to sleep well tonight.

That's all I can do. Surprised I did that. Need to write back at Michael, but I'm toast. Yeah, well. Be well.

Have a blessed weekend, Doom!

The voting thing was my poking fun at the #neverTrump whiners who refuse to consider NOT having the Hilldebeest in the White House because they don't like his hair, or the shine of his buttons, or his ONE stance out of all that they don't agree with.

Just like the neverPauls. "I agree with everything except his stance on the war. I CANNOT vote for him." Seriously had to deal with that one. It was not pretty.

Sardine and cherry pie???

OK, back to bed for me.

Yeah, come to think of it, I had the same problem with Paul. Though, to be honest, it was more disbelief than belief. I believed, knowingly or not, he was lying. As much as Bush got whipped for war, notice Zero is still there? Right. To be honest I don't think Bush wanted war. I simply think the choice wasn't there (for good or ill is your guess... I tend to believe they did what was right, or did their best, and honestly, regarding war). So... yeah. ~ As to me not voting? I do have doubts about it. But then, too, I live in a conservative area. Not sure they will vote for Trump, he is... different. But between my health and my doubts, it's difficult to make such plans. I support him, for the most part, on my blog. That's as good as I can do.

Michael,

Actually, I am thinking of... never talking about that idea again. Hope you rested well.
