What really impresses me is how the actors got the movements of the puppets down pat (e.g. the head bobbing and leg movements). This was clearly the sort of parody which was done out of respect for the source material.
My favorite bits are the mispronunciations of "Superthunderstingcar", and the shooting at the end: Brains: "Wha-Wha-wh-What the..." BANG! Kraut: "Hell." ------------ Saw this at a SciFi con called "Temporal Disturbance" in Birmingham, mid-'90s. The video room was awesome in the correct sense: YouTube before there was one, without the idiotic commentors. This video, "Ghost in the Shell" movie, vids of Joe Bob Briggs showing Robert Tilton clips with dubbed flatulence timed to the preacher's various tics. A chop-socky chick movie "The Heroic Trio". Like that.
