Terra Nova, Vetus Fabula.

Being a science fiction fan for as long as my memory serves, I always have a catch in my throat, a great expectancy when a new SF series is in the offing. Until now. "New Earth"?  Earth 2? Like this maybe?

Saving our future by going somewhere else. Or somewhen. I have watched a little, and cannot become engaged by the plots or characters. The dinosaurs (since the plot involves going back umpty-ump million years in time in order to survive, what with [then] present-day environmental predation by bad 'ol us) are good. Good dinosaurs to provide dramatic tension.

Like this. Oh wait, that's from

It is well-chewed and pre-digested Spielberg. I await FREAKAZOID - The Live Action Movie.

Laugh with me, Jocko.
LAUGH WITH ME!!

Oh...I almost forgot!

But you know,
unicorns are
such standard fare...

What

could

be

cuter

than

unicorns?

DOLPHINS!!!

You know, seagoing, intelligent mammals.

Like Darwin in SEAQUEST DSV.

You know, by Stephen Spielberg.

I must be getting better at this. I knew Terra Nova was going to suck pond bottom even before it came on. It had the look and feel of a science-fiction series made by people who knew nothing about science-fiction (Earth 2, which you mentioned, being another example . . . and far inferior to the 1971 made-for-TV movie of the same name).

Try again, folks.

Really, Mike?

You want THEM to try AGAIN?

"My Favorite Martian" (TV) is more credible than Spielberg's offerings.

I just got a VHS copy of "The Wonderful Ice Cream Suit" movie of Bradbury's fun story. We shall see how it translates.

I still hold the first five or six episodes of "Lost In Space" as being superior to anything the contemporary crowd of (alledged) filmmakers crank out, and handling the "colonization on a new planet" theme far more dramatically and memorably.

Speilberg's utter ruination of "The War Of The Worlds" was the final straw with me. His insistence of littering his productions with neurotic kids absolutely gets on my tits. In my opinion, Spielberg needs to totally break away from Hollywood and get back to his classic film roots.

Ayyyyy-MEN! If only Irwin Allen had not figured out that kids were watching LIS. And then gone color. And turned Smith into a clown.

Why not a movie version of Jeff Wayne'e WOTW musical? While Justin Hayward is still alive.

I occasionally keep getting echoes that Jeff Wayne's been working on a film version of his most excellent and bodacious musical. So far, though, nothing definite has surfaced.

Agree with you on the ultimate fate of LIS. Sadly, the show's producers took a bizarre turn early in the first season, and the whole show went downhill from there. In fact, it seemed to me that a lot of Irwin Allen's shows had really strong openings, but soon died on the vine.
