Choice Chunks from the Chalice of Reeks

Sean Spicer is historically and contextually correct. He is NOT being a "Holocaust denier". Der Fuhrer did NOT drop gas bombs or fire gas missiles, such as was done in Syria.

The Germans DID use gas in enclosed spaces to exterminate Jews wholesale, and against Russians in caves. That is not what was done in Syria.

One of these things is not like the other. To use the Holocaust as a mere political tool to beat up a political opponent dishonors the memory of the millions slaughtered in the Third Reich, and cheapens the horror of what was done in the Second World War.

May you all have a blessed Good Friday, and an even MORE blessed Easter Sunday!

I believe in one God the Father Almighty,
Maker of heaven and earth,
And of all things visible and invisible:
And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God,
Begotten of his Father before all worlds,
God of God, Light of Light,
Very God of very God,
Begotten, not made,
Being of one substance with the Father,
By whom all things were made;
Who for us men, and for our salvation came down from heaven,
And was incarnate by the Holy Ghost of the Virgin Mary,
And was made man,
And was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate.
He suffered and was buried,
And the third day he rose again according to the Scriptures,
And ascended into heaven,
And sitteth on the right hand of the Father.
And he shall come again with glory to judge both the quick and the dead:
Whose kingdom shall have no end.
And I believe in the Holy Ghost,
The Lord and giver of life,
Who proceedeth from the Father and the Son,
Who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified,
Who spake by the Prophets.
And I believe one Catholick and Apostolick Church.
I acknowledge one Baptism for the remission of sins.
And I look for the Resurrection of the dead,
And the life of the world to come.
Amen

Oboy! So much to comment on here.

Because I DO like to be thought of as a SF-film completist, I did watch "Night of the Lepus" once. It even made "Kingdom of the Spiders" look good.

And for the longest time I kept thinking the Wonder Woman theme song featured the line: "Get us out from under Wonder Woman" in the refrain.

Peter Wyngarde was far better as Klytus in the "Flash Gordon" movie.

(And I know people who are absolute fanatics where "The Champions" are concerned.)

The animated "Lost in Space". Another production I saw only once. And it reminds me never again to complain about how badly the "Jupiter-2" was screwed up in the live-action film.

"The Dover Boys at Pimento University". If you've ever read any of the original "Rover Boys" books you'll realize that Chuck Jones wasn't that far off the mark.

"The Gamma People". Yes, a rather criminally underrated film.

Italian SF films. "Your Honor the Prosecution offer up 'Assignment: Outer Space' as Exhibit A, and 'Battle of the Worlds' as Exhibit B".

He has indeed risen!

THAT cartoon is the reason why Stratemeyer Syndicate refused any animated "Tom Swift" work to be done. They saw "The Dover Boys" short, and figured "That's what cartoons do to Real Works.

So, thanks, Chuck.

"The Champions" fanatics? *raises hand*
Some of the themes and motifs sound a lot like "Joe 90" music. I begin to wonder about the provenance of that bit of Grey's tunesmithing. Also, a lot of "The Prisoner" sounding stuff by Albert Elms.

"What plaything can you offer me today?"
