Then there are things I do on Facebook....

Times such as this I'm glad I'm out of the loop. I've never seen a single episode of "24".

Me either Michael, but I know enough about it to know THAT was funny.

Philistines.

It was a series that was so visceral that it made conservative Christianly patriot-types to fist pump and go "YEEEAAAH" when our hero waterboards a terrorist, or flesh-wounds a guy's wife to get him to tell where the bomb is.

Like that.

On the other hand I'm currently in a petulant frenzy (I'm having a petulant frenzy. I'm petulant, and I'm having a frenzy) upon learning that Tom Cruise and Armie Hammer are going to star in an adaptation of "The Man from U.N.C.L.E." The reason I'm bitching is that, over the years, I've carefully crafted my own "U.N.C.L.E." revival concept, and now Cruise is going to ruin everything.

I do not begrudge either your petulance OR your frenzy. This is dreadful news.

Who were your picks?

Most of the "leading" "men" in Hollywood kill about anything, new or old. Good ideas are murdered by their baggage, metrosexuality or worse, or just their poor performance. And if somehow they don't mess it up, the producers/directors do. I've completely given up on Hollywood.

I really wish they would produce. I used to enjoy taking in a flick from time to time.

@Aardvark --- The only solid casting decision I had was Tracey Ullman as Mrs. Catherine Fly: the new Number One of UNCLE (continuing the tradition of having a Britisher lead the organization). Note: I wasn't going to actually revive the original characters. This was going to be more along the lines of "UNCLE: The Next Generation".

@Doom --- As some will point out, I enjoy movies quite a bit. I also tend to do most of my movie watching on TCM or the other retrospective film channels.

And yes, am looking forward to Iron Man 3.

I actually like so and whositz, who does Iron Man. I just don't like him doing a kids show, or show aimed at kids. I guess at least he isn't a pedophile, or last I heard. *le sigh*
