DeepSouthCon

Your Aardvark is in Huntsville again, this time at DeepSouthCon 50. The venerable Southron SF convention began in Huntsville back in 1963, and has orbited the South ever since.

So, the question arises: why do so many old school SF fen insist on looking like Grand Nagus Zek? Schlumpy Grand Naguseseseses with bad posture. Never mind.

I met Shelby Vick, a member of First Fandom. He is an 83-year-old author, who also has a webzine "Planetary Stories" . Tim Riley, a fellow huckster from WAY back brought Mr. Vick, and we all hit Casa Blanca, a Mexican Restaurant of Note here in North Alabamastan. Good noms and good times were had by all.

I have made contact with two con promoters who are interested in what we have to offer, shirt AND guest-wise. Huzzah!

Bonnie took all the guests to Casa Blanca which . . . after years of dealing with what South Carolina calls Mexican Food . . . was an extreme blessing. An old-school Mexican restaurant with all the right trimmings.

Yeppers!

There is interest in your areas of expertise. You DO still juggle poodles, right?

Do they serve pizza?

Juggle poodles? I've been married to Denise for 35 years!

OK, wait a moment. I think I'm on something of a different wavelength here . . .
