Titan- Oils well that ends well
(or) Let the rapine begin!

The Saturnian moon Titan is adrip with hydrocarbons.
Lakes of ethane and methane. More hydrocarbons than earth has at present.

And not a dinosaur in sight.

(Yes, I know that there are different environmental things going on in orbit around Saturn. It's not either/or.) It DOES make a good argument for the abiotic formation of oil here on our little ball of mud.

The only problem is, the Titans just announced their sales will all be denominated in Euros.

US invasion in 3...2...1...

Invading Titan is actually a good idea. No natives with grudges and plenty of resources. It would actually be a possibility if the laws weren't so screwy regarding private space launches.

That's something a lot of people don't realize, the thing keeping humans from space isn't technical feasability (not to say there aren't challenges there) or economic considerations (again, not to say etc.),it's the way the laws are written regarding private enterprise and space.

End of Rant

Why does Rigel's comment put me in mind of Salvage One?

I don't know Mrs. P? Rigel is right though.

I LOVED Salvage One! Bless you for remembering. (I only saw the pilot, though.)

Rigel is right.
I guess the indie astronaut could establish an ocean-going launch platform, registered under the Liberian flag.

The thought amuses me. There's an abandoned cement mixer a couple of miles from my home. You in, Mrs. P?

As to the euro comment, taking vidad seriously here would be a Titanic mistake.

Yes. I went there.

Am I invited?

Sure! Enough investors and workers and we'll make that mixer fly!

I live about 30 miles from Marshall Space Flight Center. Maybe we can rummage through their scrap pile!

Shucks...I coulda used that hydrazine that they are gonna blow up in that spy satellite.

The reason I know about that show is because that very pilot you saw first aired on the night I was born.

So that should tell you how old I am right there.

Oh, it's "monohydrazine," by the way--although the show got boring when that was the solution to every crisis.
